Inspired by a necklace my husband and daughter gave me to get through treatment, I created the grace + ease Necklace.
On the front a lotus flower. On the back an inscription that reads, grace + ease. The lotus is symbolic of the human experience of having to go through darkness in order to get to lightness. The lotus blooms from the mud of a pond into a beautiful, pure flower. Without mud there is no beauty. With the necklace worn close to the heart and easy to touch, grace + ease is accessible when the wearer needs it.
The pendant is sterling silver. The 18” sterling silver chain rests near the heart. This pendant is made in Jaipur, India by new jewelry school grads. Proceeds from the necklace go to the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Support Program.
The necklace is packaged with a loving-kindness prayer card that reads, “May I be happy. May I be healthy. May I be safe. May I live with grace and ease.” May I suggest lighting a candle, holding the necklace and reciting the prayer? Saying this prayer with a couple of deep breaths always makes me feel better.
